Shop Early, Shop Often!...............

Blatant self promotion time!!! And I'll be back for more of it next week.

That's right folks, the sequel to last year's MORE THAN FIENDS, is coming to your local bookstore on March 4! (Hey, my mom's birthday. Probably a good sign, huh?)

A FIEND IN NEED
is a really funny book if I do say so myself......So if you like smart mouthed heroines, brilliant teenagers, gorgeous Faeries, hunky demons and hottie cops...go pick up your copy on March 4!

Then write and tell me what you think of it!

Phyllis Whitney........

I just heard that Phyllis Whitney died in early February at the age of 104.

Though I never met the woman, I feel as though I knew her. She was one of the women whose wonderful books introduced me to the world of romance.

Phyllis wrote Gothics. And I love a good Gothic. She told stories that were always intriguing, romantic in the old fashioned, lovely sense of the word and mysterious as well.

She had a sense of scene that drew you into the world she was creating until you really didn't want to leave. And the books she wrote will remain long after she's gone. Hopefully, some young girl in a library is discovering a wonderful story like Hunter's Green today.

And not only was she a forerunner in the romance industry, she was a writer who was always willing to help others who wanted to tell stories for a living. This quote of hers, for me, pretty much summed up this lovely woman's attitude.....

“Never mind the rejections, the discouragement, the voices of ridicule (there can be those too),” she wrote in “Guide to Fiction Writing.” “Work and wait and learn, and that train will come by. If you give up, you’ll never have a chance to climb aboard.”

So thanks, Phyllis, for all the great books. And I hope you're having a great time researching something brand new right now...............

Buried in deadlines..........

That picture was supposed to come out bigger!

But the point is, that's me. Well not as cartoony, but just as hypnotized, sitting in front of the computer. I've got deadlines lined up in front of me like you wouldn't believe.

Now this is a happy thing, I know. I'm a lucky writer to make a living doing what I love. But when you've got this many deadlines, it sort of sucks all of your time. Hence the not many blogs.. Well, and the fact that the Plague put me two weeks behind!!

Speaking of the Plague, my daughter's got it now.........poor baby.

The Plague...........

Sorry it's been awhile.....but as you can see by the little bugger on the left......I've been down for the count.

Went to plot group, had a GREAT time, got some fabulous books, then flew home, unpacked, took a nap and woke up with a fever of 102!! Didn't get off the couch again for five days.........

Why is it we can put people on the moon and can't cure the common cold/flu? Why is it we think a hotel room is clean after a maid goes through? The truth is, the maids do their cleaning and wiping down, but they're using cloths they've already used on a hundred rooms, so hey, they're just the travel agents for GERMS.......

I've learned my lesson. Amy J. Fetzer suggested that I travel with Clorox wipes. WHY didn't I think of that??? At conference this year, going to be wiping my room down every other damn minute. No way am I bringing the plague home with me.

AGAIN.
