Make a Comment, WIN a book!
So, since my newly redesigned website is NOT up yet...Hey, the Fabulous Ms. Shelley's a busy girl these days...
I thought I'd run a mini contest here on the blog!
So, every time you make a comment on my blog between now and Sunday, you'll be entered into a contest to win a signed copy of MORE THAN FIENDS
The book's release date is June 5, so you'll be one of the first to read what reviewers are calling a "Fast paced, ingenius and sarcastic!" book.
Let me start you off with a question....What kind of heroine is your favorite?? And do you like humor with your romance??

My favorite kind of heroione is one who is smart, take charge (but not macho with it) and perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but willing to accept help. In other words, not tstl! I tend to buy more humorous romances. Life is serious enough, I enjoy laughing while reading a romance.
I can't wait until your book is released!

Thanks, Brandy! I too, love a good laugh with my romance! I like a hero with a sense of humor and a woman who runs her own life.
The whole TSTL thing is just toooo annoying for words! LOL
And REALLY hope you like FIENDS!

Hi Maureen! Looking forward to your new site. I'm glad I took a stroll today to your site to see whats coming soon and found your blog too! June is next week!! I like a heroine who is strong, but not those super strong that exceeds us, cuz I enjoy them being like us!, unless its paranormal cuz I'd expect that I find that with your books with having so much empathy with your characters. I like when they bring out their feelings and too are strong about what they want as they grow in the relationship. Humor reads make a great comfort read! I know it has uplifted me in times to read the humor, times that I smile and others I laughed out loud. It just adds to a more beautiful day too! This was great to answer! Thanks.

My favorite kind of heroine is one that is strong, independent and not afraid of going after what she wants.
I do like humor in romances. It is always great to get a good laugh while reading.

Hi Maureen,
I have been waiting for the release date of this book, it sounds so darn funny.
My favorite kind of personalilty in a Romance would be someone akin to the character in the earlier series of "Monk". The character was his sidekick, her name was Sharona.
She was spunky, could handle herself, funny and also vulnerable. I loved her character.
I must confess..humor always grabs me.
I am always attacted to whimsy in books and bookcover.
I have so many books on my bedstand to read. I reading the series of The NO. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. On book 6. I am ready for other reads...mystery,romantic humor...here I come.
Even if I don't win...I am trucking over to Border's on the 5th.
Have a great week!

Maureen,
I love heroines that are REAL--similar to someone that I might know (or have known). Someone who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to fail in the attempt(s)to go and get it.
BTW, sarcasm is an art form at my house--so I am soooo looking forward to this book! (Ammunition you think??) LOL (maniacal LOL)
Have a great day!

Caffey: Then you'll LOVE the heroine of FIENDS. Cassidy gets all this new strength...and she's independent and a single mom, but she's also so much like me, that she screws up. A LOT. And her life is anything but boring!!
Crystalq: Then FIENDS should be right up your alley. There are lots of laughs in this book if I do say so myself!
Sandy: I loved Sharona!Actually, I stopped watching when she left! LOL...And THANK YOU for rushing out on the 5th to get the book, win or lose!

My favorite kind of heroine is flawed - not nasty, just not capable of leaping tall buildings without stubbing her toe.
Love you Maureen and counting the days until the book is released!

I like a heroine that is strong and will stand up to her man no matter what but will not be able to run over him. A woman that will hate/love her man. A woman that doesn't whine but has pride. Not too much pride though. I like a bit of humor. Makes the book more interesting.

I don't like a heroine who is TSTL but I don't like brassy either. She needs to be able to stand up for herself but also realize that sometimes it's nice to have a man take care of things for you.
