Shark or Jet?? You Decide......
So, this is my February release from Silhouette Nocturne. The title is NEVERMORE and I think it's a really good story. Loved the hero in this book. Santos was just too great. And the heroine, she's one of my favorites, too.
In fact, had a wonderful time writing this book. It's the cover that bothers me.
My first Nocturne, ETERNALLY, had a faboo cover that was just gorgeous. So I guess the rule of thumb is, God gives, God takes away.
Because, is it just me, or does the hero on the cover look like a dancer in a West Side Story road company??? And I know size doesn't matter, but still, doesn't that dagger look a little...small??
Ah well, on the whole, Silhouette gives me wonderful covers, so on this book, I'll just ask all of you to trust me on this when I say it's a terrific story, so go get a copy, okay? OKAY? Thanks......

Hi Maureen,
I will most definitely buy your new book. If a writer says that it is a good book and they are happy with the outcome, that is good enough for me!
I am just finishing reading Alyson Noel's book that I bought last week. It was really funny and a good read.
As for the cover..he does not resemble Westside Story as much as Richard Benjamin...remember him and Paula Prentiss? He really does look like him:-)
As for the knife...well it is not the size of the knife that is important as much as how the instrument is used.
Congratulations again on the release of your new book, I will look forward to reading.
~Sandy
p.s. oh...did you read about "Harry Potter"...now that is what I call a reveal! I must confess I got a big laugh out of it.

I was thinking...a men's cologne model, maybe? And yes, his knife is a bit small. However, as Sandra said, I'm sure he knows what to do with it.
And *we* know it's good cause you wrote it, baby. Will buy. And enjoy. :)

I am not sure who Richard Benjamin is, but he looks a bit like the guy who replaced Johnny Depp on 17 Jump Street. Definately not the best cover, but I read the book last month. Great book. Loved both characters and the twist at the end.

I don't know who Richard Benjamin is either, but Cover Boy's lookin' a little too skinny/pretty for me.
Still, the book looks great. :)

PS Mom, I'm holding you to that. You're *so* coming with me. Thanks, Maureen!

I like the cover of Eternally, it has that whole "Highlander" thing happening. I think you may have gotten a tad bit gypped on this one.
HOWEVER - I don't think it will dissuade anyone from reading it either.

Hi Maureen,
Found your blog today after doing a search in Google for your name. I just finished reading this book and was looking to see if you had an update of a possible future Guardians novel. Was wondering who would be the next hero.
As to the cover, I really don't usually buy a book based on the cover, because I've found in the past that the art department doesn't always read the book to get a description of what a character should look like.
Anyway, enjoyed the book (as I have read several of yours in the past).
Keep up the wonderful work!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I have read both Eternally and Nevermore....and have to say that I LOVED them!! I love how you brought together the past and the present with the characters. It made me stop to think what if there really are things (entities) walking among us that we can't always see, but when those little hairs on the back of your neck stand up you know something or someone is around...that something is not quite right. I think you are a gifted author. You have a gift that people should treasure, being able to transport people into another time (and sometimes into another dimension) and another life, making us care for the characters you come up with, making us think if such things were/are possible and what would we do if we were faced with the situations that those characters are facing. As you can probably tell, if I really enjoy a book I get drawn into it completely, LOL. I can’t wait to see what comes next with the Guardians series. Keep up the GREAT work!!!
