And speaking of books...........
And when am I NOT speaking of books??? Rhetorical question, never mind.
The thing is, I'm in the last chapter of the book I'm writing. I'm headed into the big finale, where the hero and heroine sort everything out and find their Happily Ever After.
And I keep getting distracted.
You guessed it. By BOOKS.
Other people's books. I'm a reading machine here lately. I've re-read the whole JD Robb series--(new one out next month). Re-read all of Harry Potter...good times. And I've done the latest Mary Janice Davidson and a couple of cozy mysteries by Jill Churchill and Don of the Dead by my pal, Casey Daniels and now I'm into The Carriage House by Carla Neggers and it's fabulous. I've got books stacked up, waiting for my attention and I can't wait to get to them!
But then, there's the whole ending of my book thing, too.
What's a reader/writer to do?

Hi Maureen,
Do what you do the very best!
Write and sneak in the reading when no one is looking...until you finish.
I have so many books that I want to read and that is a good thing..you authors give us readers the chance to go someplace else just for a little while.
Much luck on the completion of your book!

Maureen: That's so cool about rereading the entire J.D. Robb series. I didn't start reading them for years, and then I picked up the first one and loved it and was so happy to have so many ahead of me.
I've been known to go back and re-read before a new one comes out...but I confess that I skip around and only read the relationship parts. Okay, I admit it, I'm a sucker for a love story.
Congrats on finishing!

Congrats on finishing your book, Maureen!!!
I'm so far behind on my reading. I'm just now reading JD Robb's latest in anticipation of her next one coming out soon. It's great, as usual!
And just finished Nancy Martin's first Blackbird Sisters mystery, "How to Murder a Millionaire." Loved it! I stopped at the bookstore last night and bought the rest of the series!

Maureen - Congrats on finishing up your book. The Carla Negger's book after The Carriage House, The Cabin is probably one of my favorites by her. I just love the hero in it. Yummy.
I am with Christie on the rereading. I use to reread all of them before a new release, now I just skim some of the relationship aspects - especially the Peabody and McNabb stuff (I love them) Did you see that she has the excerpt for Innocent on her website?
Kate - I haven't heard of the Blackbird mysteries, I may have to check them out.

LOL, Christie, I'm the same way! Like you and Cady, I skip around, reading my favorite parts...Love Eve and Roarke of course, but Peabody and McNabb are just so good!!
Kate, gonna have to try the Nancy Martin mysteries, they sound terrific. And my pal, Casey Daniels has another Pepper mystery coming out in February I think, which I cannot wait for!
So many books so little time!
But thanks for the congrats on finishing the book, you guys!!! I love typing those two little words, The End!

Okay, so not fair. More great books to read. It's such a hardship.
But we all do the best we can...
Mwahaha.

This is shameful to admit, but I don't get to read much fiction anymore.
I'm usually too busy researching and writing!
I know I'm safe with anything by Maureen Child, though. :)
And, apparently, I'll have to get my mitts on some Eve and Roarke!
:) d
PS I figured out your site wasn't down. It was my link. Go figure.
