That Time Again.......

They're coming. You know who. The Girl Scouts!!! Yes, Cookie Time is here! And thank God!

Yes, I know all about the good things the Scouting organization does and it's a fabulous organization for girls and young women. But let's be honest here, I love 'em for those cookies!

Every kid in my neighborhood comes to my house first when they've got something to sell. You name it, we've bought it. Wrapping paper, peanuts, popcorn, cookies, car wash tickets, even a jersey or two for the softball teams.

But with the COOKIES, I'm waiting for 'em on the porch. And usually, we plow through them so fast, I'm out driving around the city trying to find rogue Girl Scouts in front of grocery stores!!

There's not much I wouldn't do for a Samoa!! And mostly, I'm forced to hide the little beauties from my family............So how about you?? What's YOUR favorite??

    Hey Maureen,

Mmm...Samoa, definitely! I already have mine on order. :-)

My husband LOVES the Thin Mint cookies and I ordered some for him, but, unfortunately, I have to leave the room when he breaks those puppies out because, when I was a Girl Scout, I'm afraid I overdosed on that particular cookie, and now I can't eat them. Sigh. It's a sad story, really. LOL

HI, I WISH THE MINT COOKIES WERE SUGAR FREE SINCE I CAN'T EAT SUGAR, BUT ALAS AND ALAC THEY ARE NOT. I AM AFRAID IF THEY WERE SUGAR FREE THEY WOULD NOT BE THE FABO MINT COOKIES THAT THEY ARE.

    ENJOY,
    MOM

I love GS cookies. My sister was a champion seller going out for hours and hours selling. Now, no one comes to our door selling, but luckily, I have 3 nieces that are selling. I've bought about 20 boxes so far, but I figure they keep real good. Although, the samoa and thin mints are good, I have become an Animal Treasure junkie. Love them.

Oh, Michele...that is a sad story! LOL....but at least you have the Samoas to fall back on!

    Mom...no cookies for you! =)

Cady...Animal Treasure?? Hmm. Maybe I'll have to try them. I do love those Tagalongs, too. Chocolate and peanut butter. What's not to love??

Maureen, you're tormenting your mom! Go buy her some sugar free cookies right now!

Samoas--they have coconut, right? Not a fan. Thin mints are okay (sorry Michele!). I try to avoid girl scouts to protect my thighs, but my husband buys them. And taunts me with them until I tackle him and steal his cookies.

For me it is the peanut butter sandwich cookies....mmmm good! I also enjoy thin mints out of the freezer.

I liked the lemon ones, but they don't make them anymore. JUST SAY NO to COCONUT! doesn't work for me at all....maybe those are the ones I should buy--and then I wouldn't have any temptation to eat them.

    Best,

    Kim in NE

I bought four boxes from my boss's daughter--Samoas, yay! Plus thin mints and tagalongs and some of the new sugar-free brownies (which Maureen's mom should try!).

Then one of the other partners walked by with his TWO little daughters, both dressed up in their girl scout uniforms. They looked so cute...but what a cheap ploy!!! Of course I was forced to buy two more boxes!!! LOL

The Girl Scouts have sugar free brownies?? Mom will be so happy!

Okay, I love'em all. Probably Samoas most. Then thin mints. Then Tagalongs. Gee, I'm such a copycat. I like what everyone else likes.

    Then again, who wouldn't???

We are Girl Scout Cookie *fiends* over here.

True Story: We've been known to order 30 boxes a person. Always with the intention of freezing and saving them, but they're gone in a month...if they even last that long.

I'm a Tagalong hound. Samoas come in second. Thin mints are like the chocolate chip of Girl Scout cookies. It's a staple.

    :) d

PS This year we're ordering from a friend in Denver. They're cheaper there. :)

Chris....you're right. What's not to like??

Dana..how MUCH cheaper, LOL?? I just ordered five more boxes from my grocery store checker's daughter!! LOL....PLUS two boxes of the sugar free brownies for my mom!

My favorites are the shortbread cookies. I dunk them into steaming hot chocolate and devour them. My toddler like pb&j between them also. One more recipe...a mini marshmallow and a hershey kiss melted in the microwave between the shortbread. Yum!!!!!
