Quote for the day............
You gota love Bette Midler. There's a woman who's made her career HER way. She's always stayed true to herself-and eventually won the world over to her side!
Today's quote is from the fabulous Bette--
It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance.....Bette Midler
It's so true, too. If you're so afraid of having your manuscript rejected that you never send it in.....guess what??? It's already BEEN rejected. By YOU.
You win nothing by never playing. You risk nothing if you never step up and say, I have something to offer. And you never get anywhere if you don't take that first step.
So go ahead already!! Teach your heart how to dance!

Well there's not too much I can say to that, because to me that's just a fact. If you're not going to put it out there, then don't expect anything to happen. And that covers alot of things, not just manuscripts. I love to dance anyway. I don't even need a reason. Move that furniture out of the way, cause here I come!!!

Pat...you and I can bond on soooo many levels!! LOL.....my family steers clear of the kitchen when I'm cooking, cuz I'm DANCING all over the place!

You said two wonderful things right there. One, being that you're a dancing fool just like me. The other is that you like to cook. I ADORE people who cook, because then they feed me. So I quess that tells you that isn't one of rooms you will find me dancing in. I'm leaving for work now. I'll stop by later to see what everyone is talking about.

LOL, Pat! Come on over anytime. I'll cook for you! I just hate the cleanup!!
But dancing fool, you bet!

Oh, I love Bette Midler! I was sure the quote would be something a little more, er, saucy, than this one! *g*
But this is a great quote and I'm right there with y'all. Gotta take a chance sometimes, put it out there and see if anyone dances. :-)

Oh, Kate, there were some GREAT Midler quotes, LOL!

Ah, I love Bette!! Perfect quote. You know, I've never been able to just jump out on the dance floor and dance freely, but put me on a stage with a dance routine...no problem. (Of course, that was YEARS and YEARS ago.) But that pretty much reflects how I am now, I always need to be prepared before I throw myself before an audience.
I'm sure I've bored you with my Bette Midler story before (more than once), but she's definitely one of my favorite no-nonsense people. :-)
Great quote!

Actually no, Michele, you've never bored me with your Bette story, so I expect to hear it at conference!! many times!
And honey, you are dancing. You've sent the proposals out, you're taking the risk, and that's what matters!!

Hey Maureen, I think this is going to work. I'm always SO grateful that it's not me in the kitchen, that I ALWAYS offer to help clean up. No problem there. I wish I could hear Michele's story about Bette too.

I remember hearing that line from that song by John Lennon many years ago. It made a HUGE impression on me. John had alot to offer, and I miss him.

Pat, I miss him too. It was the end of an era when he left us.
