We have weather!!

It might not be big news anywhere else, but in Southern California, actual RAIN gets people pretty excited!

Been raining all day and while I love it (cozy, curl up and read weather), the dh hates it. He's trapped like a rat in the house, and so to amuse himself, he makes noise while trying to be quiet so I can work!

Uh-huh. Let's just say it's a good thing I write romance, not murder mysteries!

How about you? What's your weather like? Are you enjoying it? Getting ready for Christmas already?

Getting colder here in Arkansas. Rain coming in this weekend. I LOVE the rain...especially when I'm snuggled under a heavy quilt, the room's a little cool and there's lots of thunder and lightning.

Christmas shopping...started on Black Friday. Not near finished but we are cutting back this year, both in the amount we spend and in the # of presents we give to each niece and nephew. Anyone else cutting back?

Yay! We have rain, Maureen! I was able to wear a bucket hat and a heavy coat today. :-)

Ah, the little things in life...

Arkansas Cyndi, we're cutting back a little this year, too. We FINALLY pulled names on my husband's side of the family. Woo-hoo!

    Have a great weekend!!

    Michele

Hey, Cyndi! I LOVE the rain. the sounds, the smells, it just is so COZY!! In my next house, I demand a fireplace!!! Right now I snuggle up next to my 'portable fire'... candles!! LOL And I'm cutting back on presents this year, too! I just go nuts usually, but I"m trying for restraint this year! LOLOL.... You went out on Black Friday??? Are you insane??

Michele, my little love!! Isn't it exciting?? RAIN. Actual RAIN from the skies!!! My plants are terrified......

Hi Maureen! I walked outside this morning and was honestly stunned by the rain!! I actually said--out loud--"Huh??"

It's just sad when you forget what "rain" is. And after so many weeks of those warm Santa Ana conditions, it's such a relief. And what a sunset there was tonight!! Glorious!!

And as far as cutting back for Christmas....it's a yearly goal I never manage to meet. This year, I'm taking baby steps....determined not to buy silly stocking stuffers that nobody really uses. Any suggestions for sensible stocking stuffers? Gift cards, of course. And hey, IPODs! Hmmm...I don't think so. :-)

Kate, I'm right there with you! I opened up the window this morning, looked out...looked again...HUH? Water? From the sky? HERE?

But it's been a great day....I'm sure soon everyone will be complaining about mudslides, though!

Stocking stuffers...gift cards to B&N, to the movies, Starbucks... New razors, shaving cream, lotion, socks....oh my kids love their stockings best!

I got all my grocery shopping and mopping done yesterday so today I could just stay in pj's all day and read and be thankful I don't have to go out in the blowing snow. (which is what it's doing outside)

Christmas shopping we decided that Christmas is for kids so we mostly buy for the kids(which there are four of) I'm going to add these little 2oz bootles of Calgon body mist for my nieces as stocking stuffer. When my son was younger we included batteries in his stocking.

Oooh, Christa!! A pj day! I love that!!! Hope you have a fireplace and a terrific book!

I'm with you, Christmas is for the kids! My mom and I even made a deal this year....no presents between us, now we can both relax a little!! I'm thinking after Christmas, we'll just have to go for a great lunch somewhere together!

No fireplace but a terrific book. The start of the Diamonds Down Under series by Bronwyn Jameson Vows and a Vengeful Groom. If this book is any indication of the rest of the series we are in for a wonderful ride for the next five books.

Somehow I missed this update! So I'm late :-)

I loved the rain! I was surprised too. Last I heard, we might get a small drizzle, not a day long steady rain.

Umm, was I supposed to start Christmas shopping?

LOL Jen, If even I have started, it's time to get moving on the Christmas front.......
