Quotables........
So in the last week or so, my editor told me that we'd gotten a couple of fabulous quotes for the cover of my June book, MORE THAN FIENDS
Two fabulously funny paranormal writers, Allie Mackay and Katie MacAlister both gave me wonderful quotes for this book! I'm very pleased that they both loved the book enough to make a statement about it.
And I'm really looking forward to seeing those quotes on this book's cover.
But I'm wondering, too........do readers pay attention to the cover quotes? If it's from an author you read, would that be enough to sway you to buy a book by someone else?
Come on...feed my curiosity. Would a good cover quote get you to buy a book?

I always read the cover quotes to see if there are any from authors I love, but I'll buy the book anyway if it intrigues me or if I've read the author before.
And woohoo!! Those are indeed two fabulous authors giving you quotes on FIENDS! Congrats!!

It's funny that you should blog about this because I JUST (seriously--10 minutes ago) got off the phone with my mom and she told me that she bought a book by an author she hadn't read before because there was a cover quote by Debbie Macomber. I don't know who the author is or the name of the book, but the cover quote worked!

I'm new to your blog, but I love it. As for cover quotes. If it's an author I love like Allie MacKay, then yes I'll read what she had to say. If it's from an author I don't know or don't care for, then I'll ignore them.
so for me it's a sometimes thing. Either way I read the back blurb, but then again if it's an autobuy author like you, then I just grab the book and go on without reading anything other than the title to make sure it's not a reissue or a book I already picked up.
So I'm not sure if I helped you or not.

I ALWAYS READ THE QUOTES AND IF IT IS BY AN AUTHOR I KNOW I WILL PUT THAT TOGETHER WITH A GOOD COVER, I ALSO BUY WHEN I LOVE THE COVER, THEN I MOST CERTAINLY WILL BUY IT.
OF COURSE YOU BEING MY DAUGHTER I WOULD BUY IT ANYWAY, EVEN THOUGH YOU GIVE ME FREEBIES LOL. THESE ARE WONDERFUL QUOTES AND I AM VERY HAPPY THESE WELL KNOWN AUTHORS MADE THEM FOR YOU.

My editor told me that cover quotes helps with the buyers for the big chains, so it's all good!
