History Day......

History Day!! On this day in 1995, the space shuttle Atlantis docked with the Russian space station Mir, forming the largest man made satellite to orbit Earth! Pretty, huh???

And in other news....

1776, The Virginia state constitution was adopted.

1946, British authorities arrested more than 2000 Jews in Palestine in an attempt to stamp out alleged terrorism.

1967, Jayne Mansfield was killed in a car crash

1972, the Supreme Court ruled that the death penalty could be construed as "cruel and unusual punishment"...(Hmmm. Wonder what they thought the murder victims experienced)

2003, one of my personal heroines, Katherine Hepburn died today.

2006, the Supreme Court ruled that President George W Bush's plan to try GitMo detainiees in military tribunals violated US and international law. (Didn't the detainees violate a bunch of laws of humanity, too?)

2007, Apple's Iphone went on sale--(my brother loves his!)

And that's what I've got.......how about you???

That's a really nifty picture. I didn't watch alot of Katherine Hepburn's movies, but I always enjoyed the interviews she gave on TV. The kind of person you would like to have a conversation with.
